Congress leader Sonia Gandhi expresses shock over loss of lives in New Farakka Express derailment

New Delhi, Nov 10 (IBNS): Ex- Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday asked her party men to help families of people who lost their lives or were hurt in the derailment of  New Farakka Express in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli.

Gandhi expressed her sadness over the loss of lives in the mishap.

The Congress leader urged District and Pradesh Congress Committee members and workers to contribute in providing assistance to the families of the bereaved. 

At least seven people died as nine coaches and the engine of the New Farakka Express derailed 50 m from Harchandpur railway station in Raebareli area of  Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
