Confident India-UK partnership will continue to strengthen: S Jaishankar

New Delhi/UNI: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Friday he was confident that the India-UK partnership will continue to strengthen as he thanked UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss for her Diwali greetings.

In a tweet, he said, "Thank you @trussliz.

“Best wishes for prosperous new beginnings to all friends in the UK. Confident that our partnership will continue to strengthen.”

The UK Foreign Secretary had in her Diwali greeting, said: “India is a great friend of the UK and key strategic partner and I look forward to deepening our economic and security ties.”

Jaishankar also thanked the Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid for his greetings and said the India-Israeli relationship is growing from strength to strength.

”Thank you @yairlapid. Your sentiments reflect our deeper relationship, one that is growing from strength to strength.”

Earlier, he had also thanked the Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne for her greetings.

“Friends share their hopes and happiness together,” he posted.

Marise Payne in her Diwali greeting had said: “As Comprehensive Strategic Partners, the close relationship between Australia & India is underpinned by friendship. As we celebrate the Festival of Lights, I wish our good friends in India & those in Australia’s vibrant multicultural communities a happy #Diwali.”
