BSF-BGB meeting held at Killapara along Indo-Bangladesh border

Guwahati, Sept 17 (IBNS): A high level bilateral meeting between the border guarding forces of India and Bangladesh was held at Killapara Border Outpost in Meghalaya along Indo-Bangladesh border on Monday.

Several issues including cross-border crimes, security were discussed in the meeting attended by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) team led by Major General Shafeenul Islam DG of BGB with Brig General Anisul Hoque and the BSF team led by V K Thapliyal, DIG of BSF, Tura with Sukumar Patnaik, Commandant 75 Battalion.

Both border guarding forces of India and Bangladesh had taken decision to launch operation to prevent trans-border crimes, simultaneous coordinated patrol in vulnerable areas of the border.

Earlier, the DG of BGB paid homage to the martyrs of 1971 war.
