BJP MP Tejasvi Surya in fresh controversy over his old 'misogynistic' tweet on Arab women

New Delhi/IBNS: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s young parliamentarian Tejasvi Surya has found himself in the midst of a fresh controversy over his old "misogynistic" tweet on Arab women.

Surya, who became the Lok Sabha MP for the first time in 2019, had said in a tweet which dates back to 2015, "95% Arab women have never had an orgasm in the last few hundred years! Every mother has produced kids as act of sex and not love." (sic)

The tweet, which once again trended on social media since Sunday, has been deleted by the BJP MP.

However, netizens slammed Surya for the tweet.

One user tweeted, "@PMOIndia Respected Prime minister @narendramodi India's relation with the Arab world has been that of mutual respect. Do you allow your parliamentarian to publicly humiliate our women? We expect your urgent punitive action against @Tejasvi_Surya for his disgraceful comment."

One Dr. Jwala Gurunath said, "The treatment for Bhakts & hate mongers lies in the Arab lands . Tejasvi bigot thought he can insult their women too including Indian women.I pity women in their house . @narendramodi what a disgrace this MP @Tejasvi_Surya is .Why worried about their sex & orgasm . Pathetic !"

Though Surya is facing flak, the exact line in the 2015 tweet was a quote by Pakistani-Canadian journalist Tarek Fatah during an interview.

The 29-year old saffron leader represents Bangalore South constituency which was earlier held by late BJP MP Ananth Kumar.
