BJP delegation visiting South Korea

Hyderabad, Oct 14 (UNI) A BJP delegation led by National General Secretary P Muralidhar will visit South Korea for a week beginning from Monday.

The delegation will meet Government leaders, leaders of Democratic Party of Korea, Business houses, Eminent persons in the Socio-Cultural fields and other stakeholders of Governance and development, a statement here said.

In the last few decades, the Republic of Korea has emerged as an economic powerhouse not only in Asia but in the whole world. Today, the Republic of Korea with its specialization as the world’s second largest Chip maker, with leading companies like Hyundai, Samsung, etc, and also known as start-up powerhouse, it is steering the global growth story. India, has initiated ‘Look East’ policy under which it has identified the potential partners in East Asia where a mutually beneficial targets can be achieved.

With Korea’s look South policy, it is clear that the Indian and Korean visions converge and it is an opportunity to synergise this untapped potential. In February 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited the Republic of South Korea in spite of his busy schedule because of the general elections in India to strengthen bilateral relations.

The delegation will also visit the borders between North and South Korea. This is a part of the “Knowledge Exchange Programme” the BJP has decided to have with political parties and leaders across the world. This is in addition to the bilateral relations India has with these countries.

The delegation members including P Muralidhar Rao (BJP National General Secretary), Dr Bizay Sonkar Shastri (Senior BJP spokesperson and former Member of Parliament), Mr Umesh G Jadhav (Member of Parliament - Lok Sabha), Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale (Convener of BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department), Dr Anirban Ganguly (Director of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerji Research Foundation), Dr Ashwin Johar (BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department), the statement added.
