Patna, May 19 (The Bihar Post): It’s really bad times for the ruling Grand Alliance in Bihar.

Hours after a mighty RJD politician Prabhunath Singh was convicted in an old murder case, a senior Congress leader has been served life imprisonment in a 24-year-old murder case.

Congress leader Chandradeep Narayan Singh was served life imprisonment by a fast track court in Vaishali district on Thursday in connection with the murder of a local villager Radhakant Singh.

The victim was killed near a high school in Bhatalia under Desari police station in January 1993 after which the Congress leader along with his son was made named accused in the case.

The same day, RJD leader and former Maharajganj MP Prabhunath Singh had been convicted by Hazaribagh court in a 22-year-old murder case involving killing of the then legislator Ashok Singh.

Singh who was elected from Mashrakh assembly seat in Saran district had been killed in July 1995 within 90 days of his election. The quantum of punishment in this case will be announced on May 23.
