Babul Supriyo threatens man to break his legs at an event for differently-abled, triggers row

Asansol, Sept 19 (IBNS): Union Minister Babul Supriyo has triggered a row by threatening a man to break his legs at an event which was organised for differently-abled people in West Bengal's Asansol on Tuesday, media reports said.

Supriyo, who was invited at Samajik Adhikarita Shivir, got upset at someone who was moving.

Making the controversial statement, the Minister said as he has been quoted by NDTV, "What happened to you? Any problem? I can break one of your legs and can give you a crutch."

Following his statement, Supriyo had ordered his security personnel to break his legs if he dared to move again and also asked the public for a big round of applause to the man.

This is not the first time Supriyo made such a controversial comment.

In March this year, when he visited Asansol following the communal tension due to Ram Navami celebrations, Supriyo had threatened the agitating crowd saying he will skin them alive.

The 47-year old singer-turned politician, who represents the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), won from the Asansol constituency in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
