Avoid reports of resumption of train services until announced: Railways

New Delhi/UNI: Indian Railways on Friday requested the media to avoid publishing speculative reports regarding resumption of train travel.

In an advisory for the media, the Railways pointed out that a final decision regarding these matters is yet to be taken and premature reporting on such matters was leading to "unnecessary and avoidable speculation" in the minds of public in these extraordinary times.

During the past two days, it said there had been news reports about various protocols of prospective travellers by trains and the number of trains resuming from a given date.

"It's humbly requested and advised that media may avoid publishing on the basis of unconfirmed or unverified matters which may lead to such speculation," the advisory further said.

‪For post-lockdown rail travel, the Railways would take "best feasible decisions in the interest of all stake holders including its prospective passengers," it added.
