Assam: Two more arrests in Karbi Anglong lynching case

Guwahati, Jun 28 (IBNS): The Assam police have arrested two more persons in connection with the lynching of two youths in  Karbi Anglong early this month, taking the total number of arrested to 43.

The arrested persons were identified Onda Mech alias Janna Mech and Longson Timung.

Artists Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath were beaten to death by some local people at Panjuri village under Dokmoka police station in the hill district on June eight.

Police have registered a case (33/2018) at Dokmoka police station under section 302/34 of IPC in connection with the incident.

On June 13, police had arrested the main accused, identified as Alphajoz Timung alias Alpha, who allegedly instigated the lynching incident.
