Assam Rifles jawan commits suicide in Manipur’s Imphal East district

Imphal: One jawan of Assam Rifles allegedly committed suicide inside a barrack of the para-military force at Mantripukhuri in Manipur’s Imphal East district on Tuesday.

The security personnel found hanging at the corridor of E-Coy barrack of 15-Assam Rifles at Matripukhuri.

The deceased security personnel was identified as Rifleman Imsulemba Ao and he was hailing from Nakpu village in Nagaland’s Mokokchung district.

The body was sent for postmortem to JNIMS hospital, Imphal.

A case has been registered at Heingang police station in connection with the incident.
