Guwahati, Oct 8 (IBNS): The five-day Durga Puja festivities came to an end on Tuesday with the immersion of idols on Vijaya Dashami day.

Vijaya Dashami was quite different in Assam’s Karimganj district as more than two hundreds of Durga idols from both India and Bangladesh were immersed in the Kushiyara river.

The idols of Karimganj and Jakiganj in Sylhet division of Bangladesh were immersed in the Kushiyara river.

The idols were brought on boats and the personnel of Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh had jointly guarded during the immersion process.

Thousands of people from both side of the border had witnessed the immersion of idols.
