Assam CM faces protest in tense Assam-Nagaland border
When Assam CM, accompanied with his cabinet minister Ajanta Neog, reached at a relief camp at Uriumghat under Dhansiri sub-division in Golaghat district, more than three thousand displaced people, who took shelter at the relief camp after firing, arson incidents in bordering area quizzed the CM over the security issue and protested his visit after a week.
Protesters also shouted 'Go Back CM' slogan in front of Gogoi.
''We have lost everything and facing insecurity since decades from naga miscreants in bordering area. We appealed to Assam government to
provide security, but they could not do it,'' Naren Kerkata, a displaced person said.
Facing protest from displaced people, the Asam CM left he relief camp.
Before his visit to Uriumghat, Gogoi had faced protest from various organisations at Marioni in Jorhat district.
Meanwhile, at least ten people, including women, were injured in police batton charge at Uriumghat.
More than 10,000 displaced people had took shelter at five relief camps at Uriumghat, who fled from their hamlets in tense border.
On other hand, one more body , who was identified as Rajesh Kaka, was recovered on Monday morning from Chainpur area as the death toll increased
to 16.
On Sunday, two bodies recovered from tense Assam-Nagaland border area.
