New Delhi/IBNS: After taking the tour of Taj Mahal in Agra with First Lady Melania Trump, US President Donald Trump arrived in Delhi where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Ending his Ahmedabad spectacle Trump, along with Melania visited India's iconic Taj Mahal in Agra city on Monday evening.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the Trumps at Kheria Airport in the city.

The road leading to the Taj Mahal from Kheria Airport were decked up for his visit. The local administration had ordered for closure of the monument from 12 noon in the view of the US president's visit.

Massive billboards have been put up and roundabouts decked up with American and Indian flags to welcome the US President.

The US President reportedly took a leisurely trip of the Taj Mahal as he spent an hour visiting the monument hand-in-hand with the First Lady

"The Taj Mahal inspires awe. A timeless testament to the rich and diverse beauty of Indian culture. Thank you India," President Trump wrote in the visitors' book.

As many as 10 companies each of Provincial Armed Constabulary and central paramilitary forces were deployed in Agra along with a dozen teams of the National Security Guard and nearly 4,500 Uttar Pradesh police personnel.

Meanwhile, Delhi has also turned into a fortress in view of Trump's arrival there.

All roads leading to ITC Maurya, the hotel which will host US President Donald Trump, have been occupied by snipers, elite SWAT commandos and sharp shooters on high-rise buildings.

The security agencies are strictly monitoring the entry and exit gates of the hotel.

Earlier in the day, in  Ahmedabad, he was welcomed by Indian PM Narendra Modi after he arrived in India for his maiden visit to the south Asian nation.

He will be visiting India till Tuesday.
