After Rs. 16,768 crore expenditure, GKRA generates 21 crore man days of employment

New Delhi/IBNS: Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA) has generated 21 crore man days of employment in 116 districts of six Indian states after the expenditure of Rs. 16,768 crore.

In the wake of Covid-19, GKRA had started working towards providing employment to the migrant workers from the native villages of Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

In pursuit of the objectives of the Abhiyaan, 77,974 water conservation structures, 2.33 lakh rural houses, 17,933 cattle sheds, 11,372 farm ponds, and 3,552 community sanitary complexes have been constructed.

Similarly, 6,300 works have been taken up through District Mineral Funds, 764 Gram Panchayats have been provided internet connectivity, and 25,487 candidates have been provided skill training through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs).

Efforts by GKRA were undertaken together by 12 ministries or departments and the six state governments.
