AAP MLAs choose Arvind Kejriwal as their legislative party leader, oath-taking ceremony on Feb 16

New Delhi/IBNS: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal will take oath as the Delhi Chief Minister for the third term on Feb 16 as his newly-elected 62 party MLAs chose him as their legislative party leader on Wednesday.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and one of the AAP MLAs, Manish Sisodia, said, "All 62 MLAs have chosen Arvind Kejriwal as their legislative leader. Kejriwal will take oath on Feb 16 along with the entire cabinet."

The oath-taking ceremony will take place at Ramlila Maidan. "The ceremony will begin at 10 am," informed Sisodia who has won from Patparganj constituency.

In a landslide victory, the AAP won 62 of 70 in the assembly polls, decimating the challenger Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which could win only eight seats.

The Congress, in the face of the AAP's spectacular performance, drew a blank replicating its 2015 assembly poll results.

Hailing his party, Sisodia on Wednesday said, "People have voted in favour of work and governance and rejected hate politics."

"People of Delhi have respected our politics of development more than expectations. By giving 62 of 70 seats, people gave a message that they love the politics of work and not hate...People have stated that Kejriwal's model of development is the only model of development," added Sisodia.

Taking a jibe at the kind of nationalistic agenda which was raised by the BJP in the campaign trail, Sisodia said, "Providing good education, health services, electricity and water at affordable prices are now the definitions of nationalism."

Speculations are gaining speed in the political arena as whether two first-time MLAs- Atishi and Raghav Chadha- will be inducted into Kejriwal's cabinet.
