A-G rejects Congress' plea for Leader of Opposition post in LS

New Delhi, July 25 (IBNS): In a major setback for the Congress, the Attorney General has rejected the party's plea for getting the post of the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, reports said.
The A-G has reportedly claimed that the party must have 10 percent of House strength to get the Leader of Opposition post.

The Congress has just 44 seats in the Lok Sabha after it was decimated in the general elections.

Earlier, the Congress had written to Lok Sabha Speaker staking claim for the post.

The Law ministry had then forwarded Congress' petition to the A-G for his view.
