80 new houses inaugurated for married naval sailors at Palam
New Delhi, Aug 15 (IBNS): Keeping the thrust on improving the quality of life for naval personnel, Admiral RK Dhowan Chief of the Naval Staff inaugurated 80 new houses in Nau Sena Bagh-III, Palam on Friday for married sailors posted in Delhi.
These houses have come-up as part of Married Accommodation Project (MAP) Phase –II.
Constructed under supervision of Station Commander (Navy) Delhi Area, each house has a plinth area of 65 Sq mtr with all modern basic amenities.
Keeping the “Green Initiatives” in focus, these houses have been provided with solar geysers, rain harvesting system and planned arboriculture for complex.
These houses are for sailors of the rank of Leading and Petty Officers (equivalent to Lance Nayik & Havaldar in Army).
The housing complex has all community support facilities in place like family clinic, canteen extension counter, a school for “Little Angels”, a state-or-art gym and a basket ball court.
Under the same scheme (MAP Phase-II), another 87 houses are being constructed at the naval land in Gurgaon. These houses are scheduled to be ready by Dec 2014.
