7 killed by lightning in Bengal's Malda district

Malda, May 14 (IBNS) Altogether seven people were killed and 12 others injured after being struck by lightning in different areas of West Bengal's Malda district on Thursday, reports said.

According to police, an old man and his nephew were killed in lightning at Kahal village in Ratua when they were working in the fields during a thundersquall.

Four other people were admitted to hospital in a serious condition.

Separate incidents of lightning  killed two in Harischandrapur area, one in Chanchol and two others elsewhere in the district. Eight others were injured.
