13 persons lost lives due to road accidents in Goa in Sept 2020: Report

Panaji/UNI: As many as 13 people lost their lives in different road accidents in September this year in Goa.

According to a statistics released by Directorate of Transport, a total of 156 road accidents had taken place of which 60 were in North Goa and 96 in South Goa.

Out of them, 13 were fatal accidents (three in North Goa and ten in South Goa), seven grievous ( one in North Goa and six in South Goa), 32 minor accidents ( eight in North Goa and 24 in South Goa) and 104 non-jury accidents (48 in North Goa and 56 in South Goa).

Of the 13 persons who lost their lives in the road accidents, ten were riders, two pillion riders and one pedestrian.

While 13 people were grievously injured (North Goa 7 and South Goa 6) while 72 persons suffered minor injuries (North Goa 36 and South Goa 36).

A total 576 Challans were issued by Transport authorities in the month of September 2020.
