Want a Galaxy S25 for less? Samsung expands certified renewed phones in Europe
Samsung Electronics on Tuesday announced the expansion of its Certified Re-Newed (CRN) programme to select European markets, a move aimed at making premium Galaxy smartphones more accessible while reinforcing the company’s commitment to the circular economy.
Under the programme, Samsung offers high-quality renewed Galaxy flagship devices that undergo a rigorous in-house inspection and refurbishment process, ensuring performance and reliability comparable to new devices.
“We’re excited to expand our Certified Re-Newed programme in European markets to provide customers with more options for purchasing flagship devices,” said Jun Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Galaxy Value Innovation Team at Samsung’s Mobile eXperience (MX) Business. “By supporting the circular economy, we also hope more customers can experience our latest innovations, including Galaxy AI.”
Trusted Quality Standards
Starting with the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is offering Certified Re-Newed Galaxy flagship devices in Germany and the UK, while customers in France will have access to Refurbished Premium by Samsung devices.
All Certified Re-Newed devices undergo expert refurbishment, including thorough cleaning and more than 100 quality tests. In France, Germany and the UK, only top-grade returned products are eligible for the CRN process. Each device is restored using genuine Samsung parts and reset to ensure complete deletion of personal data.
Following refurbishment, devices are packaged in new boxes made from recyclable materials and include the same in-box items as new Galaxy smartphones. Certified Re-Newed devices also come with the same warranty as brand-new Galaxy devices, setting them apart from third-party refurbished or second-hand products.
Additionally, CRN devices sold in France, Germany and the UK are issued new IMEI numbers and updated with the latest software to ensure security and long-term usability.
Samsung said it plans to expand the Certified Re-Newed programme to additional markets based on consumer demand.
