Kolkata's Acropolis Mall provides pre-Puja market exposure for budding women entrepreneurs

Kolkata, Sept 8 (IBNS): Merlin Group, developer of Kolkata's Acropolis Mall, organised a two day long exhibition, christened 'Blooming Kolkata 2019', from Saturday for budding female entrepreneurs to provide them a direct exposure to market before Durga Puja.

The mall organised the start-up exhibition by women, which was inaugurated by Debasish Sen, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal and Chairman, HIDCO. Saket Mohta, MD, Merlin Group was also present .

At the opening ceremony, Debasish Sen commented, "The government is looking into innovative ways to create a safe ecosystem for women entrepreneurs. Creches, video analytics and roadside coffee bars are being designed in New Town."

Commenting on the initiative, Saket Mohta, MD, Merlin Group said, "Blooming Kolkata is an innovative initiative conceptualised and organised by Acropolis Mall from Merlin Group to promote first generation entrepreneurs and provide them a direct market linkage.We hope it will empower the entrepreneurs and provide motivation to fly high and enrich the start-up eco system."

Women like Aparna Dhar, a 63 year old mother of two well settled sons to Deblina Saha, a 28 year old entrepreneur, were a part of this exhibition celebrating the spirit of women entrepreneurship through deliberations, exhibition, workshops, etc., since age is just a number for them.

A beauty contest was also held, where aspiring models strutted the costumes and jewellery of the participating brands in ramp walks.
