Google doodles to celebrates Duke Kahanamoku's birthday

New York, Aug 24 (IBNS) Popular search engine Google on Monday celebrated thr 125th birthday of Hawaiian surfer and Olympic-medal winning swimmer Duke Kahanamoku by decorating its homepage with a colourful doodle.

The doodle showed a wooden surfboard  with Duke's smiling face painted on it.

Born on Aug 24, 1890, he had made surfing popular across the  world.

He was also known as an actor, lawman, early beach volleyball player.

He died  in 1968.
