Google doodles on Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar's 107th birth anniversary

New York, Oct 19 (IBNS): Search engine Google on Thursday celebrated India-born US scientist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar's 107th birth anniversary by decorating its homepage with a doodle.

Chandrasekhar was an Indian astrophysicist who was awarded the 1983 Nobel Prize for Physics with William A. Fowler "for his theoretical studies of the physical processes of importance to the structure and evolution of the stars".

His mathematical treatment of stellar evolution yielded many of the best current theoretical models of the later evolutionary stages of massive stars and black holes.

The Chandrasekhar limit is named after him.

Google decorated its homepage with a wonderful doodle to mark the scientist's birth anniversary.
