Apple’s new Siri AI is here: 10 game-changing features coming to your iPhone

| @indiablooms | Sep 15, 2026, at 06:01 pm

Apple’s latest software updates introduce Siri AI, a more intelligent and capable version of Siri, along with a range of new Apple Intelligence features designed to make everyday apps smarter and more useful, the tech giant said.

The updates also introduce new tools to help parents create safer and more enriching digital experiences for children, alongside a broad range of improvements aimed at making Apple products more responsive, intuitive and easier to use.

Siri AI Makes Apple Products More Personal

Siri AI is an entirely new version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence and deeply integrated across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro.

The more conversational assistant features personal context understanding, broader knowledge, onscreen awareness and expanded systemwide app actions. Siri AI is initially rolling out as a beta in English, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish expected in October.

Siri AI can understand personal context across messages, emails, photos and other content to help users find relevant information when they need it. It can also answer questions about what is displayed on a user's screen or search the web for up-to-date information.

On iPhone, Siri is integrated into the Camera app through Siri mode, allowing users to get information and take action based on what is in front of them. For example, users can split a bill, pay friends through Apple Cash or add a custom pass to Wallet.

With Visual Intelligence, users on iPhone, iPad and Mac can ask Siri questions about content displayed on their screens. On Apple Vision Pro, users can search, ask questions and take actions simply by looking at their surroundings and speaking to Siri.

With Write with Siri, users can describe what they need and have Siri generate a draft or help refine existing text.

Apple is also introducing a dedicated Siri app that uses iCloud to privately sync conversational history across devices, allowing users to start a conversation on iPhone and continue it on Mac, iPad, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro.

More Apple Intelligence Features

The next generation of Apple Intelligence also introduces new capabilities across several everyday apps.

In Photos, new Spatial Reframing, Extend and an upgraded Clean Up tool provide additional ways to edit images while preserving the original moment. Image Playground can generate high-quality images in a wide range of styles, including photorealistic images.

Apple said image metadata and upcoming support for the SynthID standard will help users identify images generated or edited using AI.

In Safari, Apple Intelligence can automatically organise tabs into topics, notify users about website changes such as product restocks and price drops, and create custom extensions based on a user's description.

Call Context can surface relevant information, such as confirmation codes or reservation numbers, when users call a business.

New Parental Controls and Child Safety Features

Apple is also introducing new tools to help parents manage what their children can see, who they can communicate with and when they can access apps.

A new setup process for child accounts makes it easier to enable age-based safeguards across the system. Parents can choose which apps their children can access during the initial setup and add more apps later.

Ask to Browse allows parents to require approval before children visit a new website in Safari. Parents can also approve individual contacts their children communicate with.

Communication Safety has been expanded to detect and intervene when graphic or violent content is shared through images or videos.

Screen Time has also been redesigned to give parents an at-a-glance view of their children's average device usage and most-used apps.

New tools allow parents to set daily time limits across Entertainment, Games and Social Media apps, with guidance from clinical and child-development experts. Schedules can also be used to control which apps children can access at different times of the day.

Faster Performance Across Apple Devices

Apple's latest software releases also bring improvements in performance, connectivity, search and overall usability across its product ecosystem.

On iPhone and iPad, apps can launch up to 30 per cent faster, while photos can load up to 70 per cent faster after being captured. AirDrop transfers can be up to 80 per cent faster.

On iPad, browsing files and transferring them to an external USB drive can be up to five times faster, alongside improvements to window management and multitasking.

Mac users will see faster AirDrop transfers, quicker iCloud Photos uploads and smoother transitions between Spaces and Mission Control. Music playback is also faster on Apple Watch.

Improved Connectivity and Search

On iPhone and iPad, transitions between cellular and Wi-Fi networks are now more seamless.

In Messages, users can continue sending texts while large photos and videos are being delivered over low-bandwidth connections.

Mac users will experience faster network file browsing, while Apple Vision Pro can start up and connect to Wi-Fi up to three times faster.

Search has also been improved across Spotlight, Photos and Mail on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with greater stability and more comprehensive results. Mail's new ranking system is designed to surface more relevant results in Top Hits.

Liquid Glass Design Improvements

Apple has also refined its Liquid Glass software design to create a more focused and approachable experience.

A new slider in Settings allows users to personalise Liquid Glass, adjusting the appearance from ultraclear to fully tinted. App icons have also been updated to appear sharper and more defined.

More Features Across Apple's Ecosystem

The latest updates introduce several additional features across Apple devices.

iCloud Shared Albums now support full-resolution sharing for photos and videos and make it easier for Android and Windows users to join and contribute.

The Health app adds support for perimenopause and menopause in Cycle Tracking, including notifications about cycle deviations during perimenopause.

AirPods users can now use Custom EQ to personalise their listening experience. Apple is also expanding Apple GymKit functionality, allowing AirPods Pro 3 users to sync heart-rate data through iPhone while listening to audio.

Apple Maps introduces an enhanced Flyover experience combining aerial imagery with AI for more detailed visuals.

On Apple Watch, Smart Stack widget suggestions now appear when relevant, while a new single-handed tap gesture allows users to open widgets more conveniently. Workout Buddy can now work without an iPhone nearby and is also available in Spanish, in addition to English.

Apple Vision Pro users can turn panoramas into spatial scenes with depth and use them as personal Environments. A new Thórsmörk Environment featuring a dynamic Icelandic aurora is also available.

On Apple TV, users gain support for high-resolution lossless audio in Apple Music, a redesigned Apple Podcasts app and expanded text-size accessibility options.

The new features are beginning to roll out across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27 and tvOS 27.
