Wellington/Xinhua: New Zealand reported no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, leaving its total tally unchanged at 1,492 as was reported to the World Health Organization.

There is no patient being treated in hospital for the coronavirus pandemic in New Zealand on Friday, according to the Ministry of Health.

Ten of the previously reported cases are now considered to have recovered, bringing the total number of active cases down to 43. Of those, 32 are imported cases staying in managed isolation facilities, and 11 are community cases, said a ministry statement.

"A note that while our case numbers are low, the pandemic continues overseas and is particularly active in many countries that New Zealanders are returning home from," the statement said.
