Assam reports 95 new cases for COVID-19, state tally surges to 2776

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam on Monday reported 95 new cases for COVID-19, taking the state tally to 2776.

Out of the new cases, 37 cases have been reported from Nagaon district while 16 from Kamrup district, 10 each from Darrang, Kamrup (R), seven each from Cachar, Barpeta, six from Lakhimpur, two from Biswanath, one each from Kamrup (M), Dhemaji district.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted – “83 new #COVID19+ cases reported. 30 Nagaon, 16 Kamrup, 10 Darrang, 10 Kamrup (R), 6 Lakhimpur, 7 Cachar, 2 Biswanath, 1 Kamrup (M), 1 Dhemaji. Total cases 2776, Recovered 665, Active cases 2104, Deaths 04. 6:00 PM/ June 8/ Day's total as of now 95.”

Earlier on Sunday, the state registered 208 cases of the contagion.

In the last five days, the state had registered 1120 infections.
