Assam COVID-19 tally surges to 18,666, death toll mounts to 46

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam has registered more fatalities due to COVID-19  and the state has also reported more positive cases for the new virus.

10 persons died due to COVID-19 infection in the state in the last 48 hours.

According to the state Health department, six people died due to COVID-19 infection on Tuesday while four others died on Monday.

The state death toll for COVID-19 has now mounted to 46.

Assam has registered 859 positive cases for the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

Out of the new cases 627 cases were detected in Guwahati city alone.

With the new cases, the state's tally of COVID-19 has now surged to 18,666.

Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “859 new #COVID19 ve+ patients in Assam, 627 in Guwahati alone. Take care & precautions. Total cases 18666, Recovered 12173, Active cases 6444, Deaths 46.”
