Assam Covid-19 tally surges to 16,806, toll jumps to 36

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam has reported 735 new positive cases for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours taking the overall tally to 16,806.

With the new cases, the state tally for the new virus has now surged to 16806.

Out of the new cases, 400 cases have been reported from Guwahati alone.

On the other hand, a 36-year-old man who had no history of comorbidities died at Jorhat Medical College Hospital due to Covid-19 on Sunday, taking the state's death toll to 36.

Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state had registered 735 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours and out of these 400 cases were detected in Guwahati alone.

On the other hand, out of the total positive cases, 10894 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals so far.

Assam’s Covid-19 recovery rate has now climbed to 64.82 percent.
