Indian benchmark indices see marginal gain on last trading session of Samvat year 2072

Mumbai, Oct 28 (IBNS): The Indian market was able to pick up marginally on Friday with Sensex up 25.61 points at 27941.51 and Nifty up 22.75 points at 8638.

Despite the spat between the Tata group and their former chairman continued, stocks of some of the Tata companies picked up on Friday.

Some of the key gainers were Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, Coal India, Tata Steel, Dr Reddy's and Lupin while ICICI Bank, Cipla, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, ONGC and Infosys were among the notable losers.

Friday was the last trading session of the Samvat year 2072 and also marked the beginning of the November series of derivatives contracts.
