US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday when they discussed progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation.

"NSA Sullivan briefed Prime Minister on the progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly under the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) such as semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, telecom, defence, critical minerals, space, among others," read a statement issued by the Indian government.

PM Modi, who recently took oath following his Bharatiya Janata Party's victory in the Indian general polls, expressed satisfaction at the speed and scale of the growing bilateral partnership in all areas and the convergence of views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister recalled his recent positive interaction with President Biden at the G7 Summit.

"PM reaffirmed commitment to continue to strengthen Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the global good and take it to greater heights in the new term," the statement said.

Modi became the second Prime Minister of India to take oath for the third straight term as the PM of the world's largest demoncracy.

India voted to elect a new lower house of the Indian Parliament in a staggering seven-phased polls recently.

Sullivan is the first top US official to meet Modi since he became the PM for another term.
