Unidentified persons kill youth in Gonda

A 30-year-old youth was killed by unidentified persons in the Nawabganj area of Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Saturday.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Radhey Shyam Rai said that Bhupendra Singh, a resident of Sakipur village had gone to attend a function in Maskanwa village on Friday.

"When Bhupendra did not return till late his family members launched a hunt and found his body outside the village," he said.

He said that prima facie it seems that Bhupendra's throat was slit with a sharp-edged weapon.

"The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and a case has been lodged against unidentified persons. The matter is being investigated," he said.
