Rajasthan: 6 BSP MLAs merged with Congress reach SC seeking transfer of disqualification case
Jaipur/New Delhi/IBNS: Six Rajasthan MLAs, who had won in Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)'s tickets but later merged with the Congress, on Saturday reached the Supreme Court seeking a transfer of the disqualification cases against them to the top court, media reports said.
A single bench of Rajasthan High Court is scheduled next week to hear the pleas of the BSP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against the merger of the six MLAs with the Congress.
The MLAs have filed a petition saying they want a petition to be filed in the High Court to transfer the case to the top court.
Mayawati had earlier issued a whip to her six party MLAs to vote against the Congress' Rajasthan government, if a floor test is conducted in the assembly to check if Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot enjoys the majority to remain in power.

However technically, Mayawati does not have any MLA in the state now as all elected BSP MLAs had merged with the Congress.
The BSP had earlier approached the Election Commission (EC) to consider the six MLAs as its own during the Rajya Sabha polls.
But the EC had refused to intervene in that saying it was in the Speaker's domain.
The Congress plunged into a political crisis, which is deepening with every passing day, weeks ago when then Deputy CM Sachin Pilot went to Delhi revolting against Gehlot, after being allegedly sidelined in his own party.
