PM Modi released Rs. 20,000 crore earlier in the evening under the PM-KISAN scheme.

He won the third consecutive time in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi in the recently concluded general elections.

Addressing the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan in Varanasi, Modi thanked the people of Varanasi and the nation for making him the Prime Minister of the country again.

Noting that over 64 crore people in the country cast their votes, he said that this is the biggest election in the world.

Speaking about the scheme, Modi said the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has become "the world's largest Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme".

"Rs 3.25 lakh crore has been deposited in the bank accounts of crores of farmer families of the country. Here, Rs 700 crores has also been deposited in the accounts of farmers of Varanasi," he said.

"This trust of yours is my biggest asset. This trust of yours inspires me to work hard for your service and to take the country to new heights," he said, assuring the people that he will work hard every day and night to fulfill the people's dreams and resolutions.
