Banda/Bhopal/IBNS: The social distancing norms amid the anti-Covid-19 lockdown was blatantly flouted in Madhya Pradesh's Banda when a huge crowd rallied on the arrival of a Jain monk, media reports said.

A video which surfaced a day ago shown how thousands of men and women gathered on arrival of monk Pramansagar and his assistants.

As the incident came to light, police said they will investigate and take action against the organisers.

Madhya Pradesh, which is one of the worst-hit states in pandemic Coronavirus, has recorded 3,986 positive cases including 225 deaths.

As the country is in the last week of anti-Covid lockdown 3.0, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked for suggestions from people on easing of the restrictions to facilitate agricultural activities as well as industries and public transports.
