Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Tuesday congratulated Indian PM Narendra Modi for his 'electoral success' in the Lok Sabha polls in the neighbouring nation.

He noted the successful completion of the voting process in the Lok Sabha elections in the world's largest democracy.

" Congratulations to PM @narendramodi on the electoral success of BJP and NDA in the Loksabha elections for the third consecutive term. We are happy to note the successful completion of the world’s largest democratic exercise with enthusiastic participation of the people of India," the Nepali PM posted on X.

Modi replied to his wish and said he is looking forward to further strengthening cooperation between India and Nepal.

" Thank you Prime Minister @cmprachanda ji for your kind wishes. Look forward to continued cooperation to strengthen India-Nepal friendship," Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely take oath as Prime Minister for the record third straight term on Saturday (June 8, 2024), a rare event in the Indian political scenario, media reports said.

Only former Indian PM Jawaharlal Nehru had previously won three terms.
