NCB nabs two Kashmir based smugglers with cannabis in Jammu outskirts

Jammu, Mar 25 (UNI) The sleuths of Narcotics Control Bureau on Monday nabbed two Kashmir based smugglers with contraband of cannabis in Nagrota area here on city outskirts.

"Acting on tip off, the NCB team with police this morning intercepted a car near Ban Toll Plaza coming from Kashmir," police sources here said.


They said that during frisking, 34.5 kg of cannabis (Charas) was seized from the vehicle.


Two persons namely Bashir Ahmed,37, resident of Gotli Bagh, Ganderbal and Showket Ahmad Dar, 33, resident of Khanyar, Srinagar were arrested on the spot and booked under relevant sections.


NCB sources said that the consignment was originated from Anantnag and was being smuggled to Ajmer and further to Mumbai.


"Around 109 kg of Charas has been seized by the NCB from Jammu in the past one week," they said.
