Narendra Modi casts his vote in Gujarat in third phase of Lok Sabha polls

Indian PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday (May 7, 2024) cast his vote in the third phase of the Lok Sabha polls and urged people to exercise their franchise.

Modi cast his vote at the Nishan Higher Secondary School in Gujarat's Ranip region.

Modi raised his inked finger to the crowd waiting to cast their votes.

He posted on X: "Voted in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections! Urging everyone to do so as well and strengthen our democracy."

Polling in 93 seats spread across 10 states and two union territories is currently underway in the third phase of the seven-phased Lok Sabha polls on Tuesday.

The voting process commenced at 7 am and it is expected to continue till 5 pm.

Over 17.24 crore voters -- 8.85 crore male and 8.39 crore female -- are eligible to exercise their franchise in this phase of the crucial Indian election which also saw Indian PM Narendra Modi, who is eyeing his third straight return to power, cast his vote in Ahmedabad.

Voters will seal the fates of more than 1,300 candidates, including approximately 120 women, in this round of polling.
