Mumbai/IBNS: Maharashtra MLAs across all parties have been ferried to disparate hotels to avoid cross-voting in the biennial council elections, which are scheduled to be held on July 12.

The elections will be held in 11 seats where 12 candidates are in fray.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputy Ajit Pawar have moved MLAs from their respective parties- Shiv Sena and NCP- to hotels.

Shinde's lawmakers have been kept at Taj Land's End in Mumbai's Bandra.

Pawar's MLAs have been stationed at Hotel Lalit near the Mumbai airport.

The BJP MLAs met party in-charge Bhupendra Yadav at the saffron party headquarters.

The Shiv Sena MLAs from the faction of Uddhav Thackeray assembled at Hotel ITC Grand Central.

The Congress has parked its MLAs at Hotel International on July 11.

The biennial council elections have assumed significance as they have thrown some stunning results last time.

The biennial council elections have led to some upsets resulting in the fall of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, which was run by Shiv Sena (without any factions), NCP and Congress.
