Kerala: Two killed, 3 hurt as car hit by lorry

Malappuram, Apr 9 (UNI) Two persons were killed and three others seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry in Panangagara near Tirurkad in this district late on Monday night.

Police said the accident occurred when the car tried to overtake a lorry and in the process another lorry coming from the opposite direction hit the car.


The car, which got sandwiched between two lorries, was completely damaged, police added.


The deceased and injured were of same family.


The victims were identified as M P Hamzappa (44) and his son Badusha (8).


Rehina, wife of Hamzappa and their two daughters - Astana and Ishana, who sustained injuries, in the accident. that occurred around 2200 hrs last night, were admitted in a hospital.
