Pathanamthitta, Mar 29 (UNI): Lok Sabha candidate of BJP in Kozhikode, Prakash Babu, has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days in connection with a case during Sabarimala agitation.

The Pathanamthitta first class judicial magistrate court has ordered the judicial remand on Thursday, as Prakash Babu is accused of attacking a middle-aged woman during the Sabarimala agitation.

The agitation was followed by September 28 SC verdict allowing the entry of women of menstruating ages into the temple.

Earlier, an anticipatory plea by the BJP leader was rejected by the High Court. The police had filed seven other cases against him in connection with the Sabarimala agitation.

Meanwhile, BJP State President PS Sreedharan Pillai said in a statement that Sabarimala issue will be used for poll campaign.
