Indian Air Force plane carrying 45 Kuwait fire tragedy victims heading towards Kerala

A special Indian Air Force flight, carrying the bodies of 45 people who died in a fire tragedy in Kuwait, are currently being carried to India.

The flight is expected to arrive in the south Indian state of Kerala at 11 am and then leave for Delhi.

Gonda MP Kirti Vardhan Singh rushed to Kuwait after taking oath as the junior minister.

He is flying in the same flight.

"A special IAF aircraft carrying mortal remains of 45 Indian victims in the fire incident in Kuwait has taken off for Kochi," the India Embassy in Kuwait posted on X.

" MoS @KVSinghMPGonda, who coordinated with Kuwaiti authorities ensuring swift repatriation, is onboard the aircraft," the Embassy said.

At least 48 people died after a massive fire broke out at a six-storey building in Mangaf city on Wednesday.

The deceased included 45 Indians.

The fire tragedy left 33 Indians injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also offered condolences and said the Indian embassy is working with local authorities to assist the victims.A high-level meeting was held at the Prime Minister's residence over the tragedy.
