Illegal firearm factory busted in Uttar Pradesh, 5 arrested

Four persons were arrested by the joint team of Naini Police and Special Operation Group (SOG) which busted an illegal firearm factory ahead of Lok Sabha elections in Prayagraj district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, a senior police officer said here.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Yamuna Nagar) Shraddha Pandey said that on Sunday night one Vikas Gupta was detained with illicit fireram from TSL turn.

"On Vikas's identification the police busted the illicit firearm factory operating from a building in Kashi Ram colony on Monday," she said.

She said that five persons including Atul Sonker alias Rishu, Vijay Sonker, Faizan Ahmad, Vikas Gupta and Monu Bharatiya, all residents of Naini, were arrested.

"Illicit firearms along with semi-finished items and cartridges were recovered," she said.
