'Gyani uncle at wedding': Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's dig at Modi at Gujarat rally

Latur/Valsad: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra unleashed a fresh salvo at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, comparing him to those ‘gyani uncles’ (know-it-all relatives) at weddings who endlessly grumble and lecture about everything.

She criticized Modi for targeting her party on "inheritance tax" and "wealth redistribution" allegations, dismissing them as baseless.

"Now, if this gyani uncle says that there's a political party planning to bring an X-ray machine into your home, scan all your savings, mangalsutras, and gold, and then take them away for redistribution, you'd probably think he's lost his mind," remarked Priyanka Gandhi at an election rally in Gujarat's Latur.

Speaking at an election rally in Latur, Maharashtra, Priyanka Gandhi claimed that unemployment had reached its peak in 45 years, with 70 crore people having no employment opportunities. Despite this, she pointed out that over the past decade, 30 lakh positions in the central government remained unfilled.

"If the BJP insists that no development occurred in the past 70 years (under previous administrations), then are we to believe that institutions like IITs, AIIMS, major industries, etc., were all magically constructed recently?" she said, further adding that the ruling party constantly "rants" about the faults of the Congress.

Earlier today, Priyanka Gandhi said that the country has been led by esteemed Prime Ministers from the Congress and other parties, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee from BJP, but she criticized Modi for brought the office of the Prime Minister to such a low level.

The Congress leader condemned the scrapped electoral bonds scheme introduced by the BJP, accusing the ruling party of subjecting donors to raids by central investigative agencies.

These raids ceased once funds were received from these companies in the form of electoral bonds, she alleged.
