Former Congress spokesperson Rohan Gupta joins BJP

New Delhi/IBNS: Former Congress spokesperson Rohan Gupta joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday.

Along with Gupta, several other leaders joined the BJP in presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Gupta left the Congress last month alleging "constant humiliation" and "character assassination" by a Congress leader connected with the party's communication department.

Joining the BJP, Gupta said, "How many contradictory voices can be there? The communication in-charge, who has 'Ram' in his name, asked us to keep shut when Sanatan (Dharma) was being insulted. An alliance has been formed in the name of the country but anti-national forces were involved.

"What compulsion led the Congress to support Kejriwal, who has been accused of being linked to the Khalistanis?"

Gupta joined the BJP days after other former Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh joined the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
