Eunuch commits suicide by hanging from ceiling in Punjab

An eunuch reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself/herself by the ceiling of the house in Indira Colony in Phillaur on Monday evening, source said on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Hasina Mahant. The cause of suicide is not known yet.

Neighbours informed Akhilesh, nephew of the deceased, and niece Jyoti when they were going to the railway station to board a train for their native village.

The Police have registered a case and sent the body to Phillaur Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
