Patna/IBNS: Saurabh Kumar, a youth leader from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United), was shot dead in the state capital Patna by four unknown people on a bike last night, media reports said.

Four unknown people opened fire at Saurabh when he along with his friends were returning from a wedding ceremony.

Saurabh succumbed to the injuries in head and neck.

Munmum Kumar, who was with Saurabh, was injured.

"Attackers on motorcycles opened fire at Kumar while returning from a reception. Another person was also injured in the incident, and their condition is stable," Superintendent of Police Bharat Soni said as quoted by India Today.

Police said they are analysing all angles including the political and business as the motive behind the killing.
