Lucknow, Apr 13 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Saturday said that an attempt was being made to create hatred between followers of Bajrangbali and Ali.

Her comments came after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday compared Lok Sabha polls to contest between Hindu god Hanuman and revered figure in Islam Ali.

In a string of tweets, Mayawati extended greetings the people of the nation on the occasion of Ramnavami and prayed for happiness, peace and prosperity in their lives.

The BSP chief said, 'When people are remembering the ideals of Lord Ram, an attempt is being made to create

confrontation batween 'Bajrang Bali' and 'Ali' to gain political mileage.'

On the centenary of Jalianwala Bagh tragedy of Punjab, Mayawati paid rich tributes to all the martyrs who laid their lives for the country and expressed her condolences towards their families.

The former UP chief minister further said that it would have been most gratifying had the Indian government succeeded in extracting an apology from the British government for the gruesome massacre.
