The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a Sub-Inspector of Police from Meerpet Police Station in Rachakonda Commissionerate on Saturday while he was in the act of accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

At 1245 hours on Saturday, the accused officer (AO), Boddupally Saidulu, was apprehended by the ACB, Ranga Reddy Unit, when he demanded and received a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant, Madhani Subash of Gurramguda Village, Balapur Mandal. The bribe was solicited in exchange for dropping action on a complaint filed by one Nazmuddin, according to an ACB statement.

The ACB asserted that the AO had improperly and dishonestly carried out his public duty.

The bribe amount was seized from the AO's possession. Both hands and the contact portion of the right-side front pocket of the AO tested positive in a chemical examination.

Boddupally Saidulu was being arrested and produced before the Ist Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally, Hyderabad.
