LCA Tejas moved to bases in Jammu and Kashmir for valley-flying operations

The Indian Air Force recently sent the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas to Jammu and Kashmir to help pilots gain experience in flying in the valleys of the UT situated along the Pakistan border.

“The LCA fighter jets are carrying out extensive flying operations in the Jammu and Kashmir sector as they have been moved to forward bases to gain experience of flying in the valleys and carry out other operations there,” defence officials told India Today.

Interestingly, the Indian Air Force often transports different types of aircraft to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to give defence forces experience of flying in the unique terrain.

The IAF also has been developing the LCA Mark 2 and the AMCA, which have been manufactured by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), reported India Today.
