President Murmu to address special session of Arunachal Assembly

Itanagar/UNI: President Droupadi Murmu will address a special session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly here on Tuesday on the last day of her two-day maiden tour to Arunachal Pradesh.

On Monday, the President graced the 37th Statehood Day celebrations of Arunachal Pradesh and attended the civic reception hosted in her honour by the State Government at IG Park here.

Murmu was given a rousing welcome by the state leaders led by Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, and Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on her arrival at Donyi Polo Airport. She was also accorded a guard of honour at the airport.

State Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona, Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia, Doimukh legislator Tana Hali Tara, Chief Secretary Dharmendra, DGP Satish Golchha, Papum Pare DC and SP were present on the occasion.

A traditional welcome with cultural troupes was organized at the Raj Bhavan helipad, where besides the Governor and Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and other Ministers were present.

She was also welcomed at the Raj Bhavan by its officers led by the Commissioner to Governor.
